About The role

Based in our Distribution Centre in Ipswich, our Dispatch Operations Leader is critical to driving our National Delivery Schedule (NDS) ensuring stock flow plan is delivered to our stores efficiently and effectively while building strong relationships with our transport partners. This role is key in leading a team of 8 to support The Reject Shop serve its overall purpose to help all Australians save money every day through ensuring our stores have the right products on time across the nation.

Our Dispatch Operations Lead plays a pivotal role in:

  • Influencing, management and compliance of our transport partners
  • Driving the National Delivery Schedule (NDS), compliance and DIFOT to stores
  • Delivery of productivity targets while maintain best practice levels of accuracy and safety
  • Executing correct sequence of outbound product to stores
  • Executing timely delivery of promotional stock to stores within deadlines
  • Problem solving and bigger picture thinking to continually ask questions and find efficiencies within the dispatch process

About You:

You will have the ability to see beyond on the numbers and understand the bigger picture impact on our supply chain from warehouse to stores and external partners.

You will have a curious and solutions mindset and are action oriented. With an upcoming, exciting phase of major transformation in the logistics space, you will be negotiating, coaching, influencing and problem solving as you support the logistics team through growth and innovation.

  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills with both internal team and leaders as well as with external transport and 3PL providers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You can tailor your communication style to different stakeholders internal and external to the business. Professional and influential written and verbal skills are required to succeed in this role.
  • Ability to influence and hold all stakeholders, both internal colleagues and external providers, to account when required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, Senior Leadership, store teams, external service providers.
  • Working knowledge MS Office Suite (primarily Excel, use of VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables etc)
  • Data driven with a high attention to detail. Proven experience with analysis driving operation behaviors, compliance and KPI’s.
  • An organized and disciplined approach to tasks and workplace operations.
  • Operational leadership experience in retail dispatch operations would be advantageous.
