We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our People & Culture team and take the lead on delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll to our 5,000+ team members nationally.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • End-to-end payroll processing (weekly and monthly) for all team members using HR3 and Kronos
  • Ensuring accurate Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, liaising with Payroll Manager and HR
  • Investigating and resolving payroll-related employee queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Preparing and delivering ad hoc reports with accuracy and efficiency
  • Assisting with end-of-month processing, including reports and distribution
  • Maintaining and updating employee master file data in the payroll system
  • Handling external inquiries (e.g., Centrelink, auditors)
  • Managing leave calculations (parental leave, long service leave, etc.)
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a senior payroll role, preferably in a large, multi-site organisation
  • Strong understanding of Fair Work compliance, award interpretation, and payroll legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail and high-level proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with HR3 and Kronos (desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team
