You’ve seen the headlines. You’ve heard the hype.
The Reject Shop is now part of global retail giant Dollarama, and we’re building something big.
2026 is shaping up to be a game-changer. With our store network expanding, our customer experience evolving, and our footprint growing towards 700 stores, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. At the centre of it all is our Store Development team, and we’re looking for a Store Planner to help shape the future of our growing store network.
This role is ideal for an experienced planning and design professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll take ownership of multiple projects at varying stages, working closely with architects, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams to develop store layouts that bring our retail vision to life. If you're highly organised, technically capable, and enjoy balancing design, coordination, and communication, this could be your next move.
This role is based in our Kensington Store Support Centre.
What you'll be doing
- Managing 20 to 30+ store planning projects weekly across new store openings, refurbishments, relocations, and conversions.
- Developing and maintaining store layouts, fixture plans, and floor plans using AutoCAD in line with Dollarama's design principles and standards.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders including Range & Space Planning, Project Management, Property, and Operations teams.
- Liaising with architects, consultants, and external partners throughout the planning and delivery process.
- Reviewing technical drawings and visualising store layouts to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and commercially effective.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Preparing and updating store planning documentation and drawing packages.
- Responding to planning queries and providing timely support to project stakeholders.
- Ensuring all plans and layouts are accurate, up to date, and aligned with business requirements.
What you'll bring
- Minimum 3 years' experience in store planning, retail design, drafting, architecture, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction documentation.
- Strong spatial awareness and the ability to visualise retail environments from plans and drawings.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently and delivering outcomes to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to coordinate across internal teams and external partners.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously.
- Retail planning or retail design experience will be highly regarded.
Why join us?
- Be part of an exciting growth journey as we expand towards 700 stores.
- Work within a collaborative, high-performing Store Development team.
- Enjoy a flat, fast-paced environment where your ideas and contributions make an impact.
- Hybrid work model.
- Team Member discount of 15% for you and an immediate family member.
- Paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers.
- Employee Assistance Program – free and confidential support for you and your family.
- Career development opportunities within a growing national retailer backed by a global retail leader.
This is a highly visible role where you'll play a key part in bringing new stores to life and ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard. If you're a strong planner, an excellent coordinator, and enjoy seeing your work become reality, we'd love to hear from you.
