You’ve seen the headlines. You’ve heard the hype.
The Reject Shop is now part of global retail giant Dollarama, and we’re building something big.
2026 is set to be a huge year. Our store network is expanding, our customer experience is evolving, and we’re growing towards 700 stores. Behind the scenes, our Merchandise team is making it happen - and this is your chance to be part of it.
We’re looking for a Buyer to join our growing Merchandising team, home to some of our most exciting partnerships, including a major global supplier in the UK. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll manage vendor relationships, deliver compelling ranges, and help integrate new product streams from both existing and Dollarama sources.
If you love retail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to play a pivotal role in shaping a category customers love, this is the opportunity for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your category end‑to‑end, owning the critical path and delivering commercially strong ranges.
- Working closely with a key UK‑based supplier representing around 60% of the category.
- Integrating new Dollarama products and sourcing exclusive items tailored for The Reject Shop.
- Managing one primary vendor relationship while also working with a range of overseas suppliers.
- Leading range reviews, building assortments, and adjusting planograms to improve store presentation.
- Coordinating samples, purchase orders, artwork, catalogues, and promotions to meet timelines.
- Visiting stores to assess merchandising, gather insights, and enhance the customer experience.
- Running merchandise and pricing reports, tracking competitor activity, and making data‑driven decisions.
- Partnering with Planning, Marketing, and Store Operations to deliver a category strategy that’s aligned, customer‑centric, and profitable.
What you’ll bring
- Experience working with a large national branded supplier—retail or FMCG experience highly regarded.
- Background in buying, category management, range building, or procurement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to pivot quickly - every day will look different, and you thrive on that.
- Solid Microsoft Excel capability, able to interpret data and make smart commercial decisions.
- Proven experience managing range reviews or introducing new ranges into a business.
- Confidence negotiating with suppliers, understanding margins, and balancing pricing strategies.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset - you enjoy pace, problem‑solving, and rolling up your sleeves.
What we can offer you
- A fast‑paced, purpose‑driven team shaping the future of value retail.
- Opportunities to grow your career across a national retailer.
- Exposure to international sourcing, vendor negotiation, and range development.
- Employee benefits including paid parental leave and EAP support.
- The chance to own your category, influence strategy, and see your impact in stores across Australia.
This is more than a Buyer role.
It’s your chance to learn, lead, and help shape the future of value retail in Australia.
