You've seen the headlines. You've heard the hype.
The Reject Shop is now part of global retail giant Dollarama, and we're building something big.
2026 is set to be a huge year. Our store network is expanding, our customer experience is evolving, and we're growing towards 700 stores. Behind the scenes, our Store Support Centre is laying the foundations for this transformation, and our People & Culture team is right at the centre of it.
We're looking for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor who thrives on solving complex workplace issues, partnering with leaders, and helping create positive outcomes for our team members. If you're confident managing sensitive ER matters, leading workplace investigations, and providing trusted guidance to stakeholders across the business, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
This role is based in our Kensington Store Support Centre.
What you'll be doing
- Managing complex employee relations matters from assessment through to resolution, including performance, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing expert coaching and guidance on employment obligations, policies, procedures and people-related risks.
- Supporting high-risk and sensitive people matters, balancing commercial outcomes with fairness, compliance and team member experience.
- Preparing documentation, recommendations and investigation outcomes associated with formal employment processes.
- Partnering with People & Culture Business Partners, leaders and external stakeholders to achieve practical and consistent outcomes.
- Supporting employment-related claims, Fair Work matters and other workplace disputes.
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve leader capability, people practices and employee outcomes.
- Coaching and mentoring Advisors within the broader People & Culture team.
What you'll bring
- Strong Employee Relations, Workplace Relations or HR advisory experience within a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Proven experience managing complex workplace matters, including performance, conduct, investigations and grievances.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards and workplace relations frameworks.
- The ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders and provide pragmatic, risk-based advice.
- Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to support leaders through challenging conversations and change.
- Experience supporting employment-related claims or external proceedings will be highly regarded.
What we can offer you
- Inclusive and collaborative team culture.
- A flat, fast-paced business where every idea matters.
- Hybrid work model.
- Team Member discount of 15% for you and an immediate family member.
- Paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers.
- Employee Assistance Program – free and confidential support for you and your family.
- Ongoing opportunities to learn, develop and grow your career as we continue to expand.
This is more than a People & Culture role. It's a chance to help shape the future of retail in Australia while supporting leaders to navigate some of the business's most important people decisions. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering practical solutions, building capability, and creating a great experience for our team members.
